TL In Exile has a must read post about the outrageous omissions of Friday's presser:
It has been driving me crazy that Barack Obama had a press conference today and not one single question was asked about Project Gunwalker. There was not one single question about Wisconsin and the death threats made by union members against government officials. Okay, I know these are special subjects for me and all, but even objectively...right?Obama lied egregiously about our oil production and the press blithely accepted it as fact. Via Marathon Pundits:
Am I crazy to think that a scandal that has finally gotten some light shed on it over the past few weeks isn't worthy of comment? Okay, the death of a U.S. Customs agent at the hands of a band of criminals down on the border which might have been the fault of the Department of Justice? No? No questions about that? Hmmmmm, what about the accusation that despite their friendly banter the other day when President Calderon visited, the Obama Administration might be responsible for the deaths of at least 150 Mexican nationals by letting guns flow south of the border? No? Still no? Dang.
What if the Ranking Member of the Senate Judiciary Committee called for an independent investigation into the allegations that the ATF was complicit in the act of allowing guns to be purchased by a straw purchaser and "walked" down to Mexico? What if 13 members of the House Judiciary Committee sent a letter to the Attorney General of the United States and asked for details on the project "Fast and Furious"? Nothing? Crap!
Well, I suppose if the Mexican government asked for detailed information on the investigations theoretically being conducted by the Inspector General of the Department of Justice and an internal investigation in the ATF? No? What if the Mexican Ambassador was summoned back to Mexico City to brief the Mexican government on these investigations? Nothing again? All right, this is starting to tick me off.
What if government officials of all three major political parties in Mexico demanded that U.S. agents guilty of gun trafficking and perhaps even the charge of accessory to murder be extradited to Mexico to face these charges? Would that inspire at least on question on Project Gunwalker? No? Still no?
All of these things have happened, you know. READ THE REST
At a press conference today, President Obama unleashed a real whopper of a lie today. "We're producing more oil and we're importing less."Nice Deb has a great roundup of blogger reactions to Barry's energy lies and the media non-reaction to those lies.
Huh?
If fact, as the graphic in a Hot Air post show, the opposite is true.
This wasn't a slip of the tongue. On the White House blog, the administration boasts, "In fact, oil production last year rose to its highest level since 2003."
On Wednesday, a coalition of business groups, including the National Black Chamber of Commerce and the Offshore Marine Service Association, wrote a letter to Congress asking that it hold Interior Secretary Ken Salazar accountable and compel him to end the Gulf of Mexico drilling "permatorium."
Which country has the largest reserves of fossil fuels? Saudi Arabia? No. Russia. Close.
It's the United States.
Oil. Coal. There it is. Take it.
Of course Obama said three years ago that energy prices "would necessarily skyrocket" if he had his way.
"In summation, Obama is a liar, and he’s destroying the economy."The Institute for Energy Research has a scathing rebuttal to Obama's false assertions about our energy production. Here's an excerpt from, "Mr. President, Stop Misleading the American People":
President Spins While the Price at the Pump Continues to Climb
WASHINGTON- In today’s press conference, the President boasted of record high domestic oil production. Once again, President Obama is spinning the facts in order to deflect the blame for the rising price at the pump. In response, Thomas Pyle, president of the Institute for Energy Research, issued the following statements:
“Either President Obama is being misinformed by his energy advisors, or he is misleading the American public. He continues to assert that ‘the U.S. has only 2% of the world’s oil’ when, according to the Congressional Research Service, the U.S. has at least 17% of the world’s oil.”
“In a recent report, CRS said that the U.S. has 19.1 billion barrels of proven reserves, which is the number President Obama cites as 2% of the world’s oil. CRS, however, showed that between our proven reserves and oil predicted to be found, there is likely to be a combined 164.1 billion barrels, or 8.5 times as much as the president alleges. And this figure doesn’t include oil shale, which has recoverable reserves of 1 trillion barrels, according to DOE. Mr. President – let people look and they shall find.”
“The President’s anti-energy policies are a man-made disaster. Try as he may to deflect responsibility away from his own policies, President Obama can’t escape from the simple fact that the actions of his administration have dramatically slowed down domestic energy production. As a consequence, his policies are directly responsible for increasing gas prices.” READ THE WHOLE THING
Over at Conservative Home's The Republican, there's a fine critique of the press conference which Barry appeared to have no real no interest in participating in:
He seemed nearly absent in his own press conference. Everything he talked about seemed a subject worthy of deliberation, not action; consideration, not decision.Barry also used the presser to defend forcing taxpayers to sponsor leftist "public broadcasting" despite the scandals revealing what hateful biased entities they really are. Read about it at Gateway Pundit.
There's a message in this for 2012 GOP hopefuls somewhere.
Obama doesn't like being President of the United States, he would much prefer to be President of China, where dissenters can be dealt with in the manner which I'm sure he'd prefer than to how us pesky Americans go on with our free speech and all. Read Pundit & Pundette for the rundown on that little tidbit. Excerpt:
It's just not fair. Being POTUS is too hard. People expect so much and complain and criticize your every move. So Obama, in classic narcissist style, blames the job instead of himself. By implication, he also blames America for being America and not China. And what really bothers him isn't that he's not up to filling the role as leader of the free world, but that he looks bad as he flounders and fails. RTRBarry's not the only Obama with a massive disconnect from regular American folks, at Weasel Zippers you can read about and see a photo of Michelle Obama's hideous $1,000 handbag. Also at Weasel Zippers, "Morally Handicapped President Hits the Links Again". Allah forbid that the tragic catastrophe unfolding in Japan, the chaos in the Middle East or our economy in shambles get in the way of Barry's leisure activities.
Gunny addresses Barry's proclivity for frolicking over anything else over at THE ANTI LIBERAL ZONE:
OBAMA MISSES ANOTHER EVENT
Last weekend, Obama skipped Lincoln's Inaugural Sesquicentennial Commemoration in the Capitol, presumably because of a conflict with his tee time at Andrews AFB because to this nattering nabob, golfing is far more important than honoring Lincoln, someone Little Boy Barry has linked himself to, along with JFK, FDR, Reagan, and ultimately, God Himself!
Why is it that this clown the Left installed in the White House, Soros' puppet, always seems to miss critical events that presidents before him have made a point to attend? Among many other, it appears that Barry would rather play golf or play hoops, than attend:
The National Prayer Day breakfast (maybe Obama lost his prayer rug)
The end of the Cold War anniversary
The downing of the Berlin War anniversary
The Normandy (WW2) Ceremony (did not want to offend the Germans/Brits)
The Memorial Day ceremony at Arlington
The Ball honoring Medal of Honor Winners
The Scouts Jamboree (100th anniversary) to be with Joyless Behag on "The View"
The King of Norway's meeting at the Nobel Peace Prize award for Little Barry
The funeral of Polish President Lech Kaczynski (a long-time US ally and Barry went golfing)
And this is just the short list.
Can there be any doubt that Obama is nothing short of an embarrassment to this nation? RTR
2012 can't get here fast enough.

I can't stand to watch him either, or how the propagandists continue to shill for him.
I have refused to watch press conferences and interviews with The Messiah since I realized (while he was running for office) that the media, even that fellow with the show at 8 PM on Fox, have no guts to challenge the man when he lies, or with hard questions about his hidden past, or with any question that might show how he is contradicting himself all the time during the past decade on the national stage...
Oldefarte; really? Domestic terrorists? Trojan horse election? Does rubbish like that really help the discourse. It's comments like that, that deepen and extend the gulf between all of the parties involved in the political process.
When did it become inadequate to strongly disagree with a view or policy? No it seems everyone who doesn't agree with the right side of politics is a terrorist, or hates America. And while some elements on the left are just as vocal it appears more of a right on left issue.
You people are disgusting human being claiming to be Christian, but in fact all you do is prove that people who hate Obama are racists scumbags.
Hi Hobo! Nice to see you here! You're right and it drives me crazy the way everyone just gives him a pass. Great pun.
What he doesn't do is in fact far more telling than what he does and fucks up.
These events he missed is just his way of showing people what he is really about and is probably laughing at the stupid people who just accept it. He gets away with everything and then frolics away.... Someone needs to be front and center and just calls him to the rug. (pun intended)
That's because the treasonous press refuses to call him out on his lies.
Recently someone tried to tell me that a Barry quote is a reliable source. !!! There are still plenty of people out there who believe what this guy says.
Thanks, mRed!
This is a great post! An honor to link.
Thanks, Jack. It infuriates me the way the media continues to give him a free pass. They are co-conspirators in his treason.
As more and more comes out about this guy, the evidence mounts that marks him as the worst president in history. Great post, Mare!
Me too!
I hope 2012 isn't too late...
