Down but Not Out

I am still here.
If you are a reader of this blog, but not one of my followers on Twitter, Google +, or the A-C page, and/or the Zilla page on facebook, you might think that I have dropped of the face of the Earth due to the slowdown of my posts here. I am posting today to let you know that I am still here.

The past few weeks have been a little tougher than usual, my oldest child started school full time and I was hit hard by all of the things that I was required by her school to purchase. The extra expense really threw me off my very small budget and as a consequence, I have had to forgo filling half of the prescriptions that I need to manage my medical condition and also have gone hungry more often than I would prefer to make sure that the rest of the family has enough to eat. This has left me in a great deal of physical pain and also just completely exhausted  - both physically and mentally. Additionally, adjusting to a new routine is not easy, especially for my little boy who is still home with me and does not like change of any kind. I have suffered from an inability to focus the way I would like to in order to be able to write coherently at any great length.

I apologize for disappointing my readers but assure you that things should return to normal here soon. A few people have expressed interest in my custom made blog ads; if and when they decide to follow through and I collect payment, I can get the medication that I need to better manage my chronic pain from nerve damage and have enough left over to even feed myself in addition to the rest of the family. Two very kind women hit my tip jar recently which allowed me to get milk and diapers for my youngest & bread for the oldest so she could take sandwiches to school for lunch, and I was even able to get meat to make a few dinners. I am very grateful for the help.

In another week or so, things will be back to what is 'normal' for us, struggling as always but not penniless, and we should by then be adjusted to our new routine as well. The Boy is already starting to settle in and not complaining as much about how he misses his big sister, so I will try to get back to blogging more in the very near future. I thank you for your patience and support.

In the mean time, be sure to check out the over 300 awesome blogs in my blogroll over there on your right (click 'see all' for the full list to see what other bloggers are talking about), and here's a great video from Toots Sweet to remind you that progs and their media puppets stink (another reason why you should support Conservative Bloggers and their Tip Jars):

I've been checking your blog, so thanks for letting us know.  I was wondering about A-C.  I'm glad that everything's back to normal for you.   It's a big change for you too that your daughter is going to school full time.  They grow up fast - enjoy!

Thanks, Rosalie. It's not back to normal yet, it will be at least a week before I can get my pain meds & have enough food in the house so I can eat normally again, but at least I can see the end of this long miserable month on its way. It's still hard to concentrate, but it will pass. I'm glad to have friends like you who care. (((hugs)))

You know it even better than I do. :(
Trust me, lil sis, if things get better for me, I'll make damned sure to try to make it better for you too. It won't be any fun getting back on MY feet unless I can have you standing there with me. May we live to see better days when we can look back on this crap and be proud to have survived it and know that it's behind us.

I am so glad to see you post again! I wasn't aware of any medical problems!

I wish I was able to help monetarily but I am paying off my cancer surgery - no insurance is a downer :( but being cancer free is a major high!! :D

Wow, congratulations on beating the big C! I can't imagine how stressful it must have been to have the worst thing ever and no insurance. You are clearly a warrior and I doubt anything could keep you down.
My medical issues are just pain, they don't really know why, lots of different diagnoses over the years, but they can't figure it out. I do have nerve damage, ruptured discs, pinched nerves & have had Lyme Disease multiple times, the Lyme is most likely behind why it doesn't get better. I hurt, but I'll live.
Another week or so and I should be in better shape.
Thank you for your kind thoughts.

We are all warriors in our own way. You fight the pain to care for your family. I simply have scars left although they can be a source of amusement - when I feel particularly snarky ;)

(my cancer was on my face and so it is just a little different than most faces - not bad, just different)

Hang in there Zilla -- You're a survivor and a fighter and we love you for it. A lot of us know the same troubles, unfortunately. :(

Hi MJ, I just noticed you had this newest post up; it wasn`t showing for me even though you had linked to it at the AC page. Odd !

I see you have many well-wishing friends posting; that`s always great to see. You know I care and pray often for your comfort and strength to carry on and for blessings for all the RESISTERS ! Hang in there, it will get better soon on all fronts ! I`m confident.

I will be praying for you.  I, too, deal with chronic pain and feeble finances.  I wish that I could hit your tip jar as well.
