Cooking with Zilla

If it's Sunday, then I am in my kitchen fixin' to cook a big dinner for the family. First Sasquatch would have a fit if she knew what I was cooking, but I bet you five bucks she'd snarf it down greedily if she had the chance...
Every Sunday morning, I make bacon and biscuits; this morning's biscuits were made from scratch and soooo yummy. I saved the bacon grease to use in the evening meal. Tonight we are having Fried Pork Chops, and I am frying them up in bacon grease. It is as delicious as it is haram! The only thing that could make it better is if we had some Pork Soda...


Get a plate, dump some flour on it, mix your favorite seasonings into the flour. Get pork chops, drag them through the flour, coating them. Toss floured pork chops into a frying pan filled with your fave fatty frying stuff of choice, but be aware that bacon fat makes it super duper yummy and sometimes you'll even find little bits of bacon clinging to your chops as you feast on them!

OK I am not totally horrible, I will be serving these delectable vittles with salad (covered in bacon bits, croutons, and non-reduced calorie dressing) and buttered rice (that's real butter, not margarine or "spread", whatever the hell that even is).

My mom is from further south than "The South"!  She's from Grenada, the little Caribbean island nation that Reagan and the Marines saved from Castro & his Cuban commies in the 1980s! We know good food.

We're having marinated chops on the grill, fresh green beans, corn on the cob, and grill- roasted red taters.

I love chops!  Fried in bacon grease?  You betcha!!

Ah, butter! Although I do buy margarine for certain things, my main love is butter and my kids were raised on it. If we ate dinner as guest at another house. I could be guaranteed my kids would mention the butter tasted funny.
We have favorite meals. Some I grew up with, others I've learned along the way.  Today we had one I learned years ago from an old boy friend's mom. Pork and beans with barbecue sauce and polish sausage. Didn't have the sausage, but did have some canned meat (off brand Spam) and it work surprisingly well, but the sausage is the best. As you know, things have been difficult and I look forward to being able to create better meals beginning in September.

Pork, bacon grease... you are what you eat.  Like typical Red State conservatives whose life expectancy is decreasing and will pose a severe burden to America's healthcare system because of their ever increasing obesity... Just added fried pork chops to this weeks menu lineup,YUM! Tonight it's tomato sauce from our gardens harvest of Rutgers .Tomato's were on the vine at 6am and starting to simmer at 9am! Can't get any fresher than that and the smell is awesome. Gonna pair that up with pan seared Italian sausages(from last seasons deer) and whole wheat pasta( OK that came from Kroger). Times are tough down here too but with hunting,fishing, and growing we're actually eating better and enjoying it more than we were when things were booming! Funny how that worked out isn't it?

Oh my gosh, that sounds wonderful! I generally do not like the taste of venison (shame since we're in deer country), but it tastes good in sausage! I bet knowing that most of the meal came from the earth to your table by your own hands every step of the way makes it taste even better!

"athlete" is just typical of the health nut who doesn`t get that many of us eat what we want because it tastes good and then get enough exercise to work it off. He knows more than we do. He is just one step below the fanatic vegetarians, insisting that we eat tree bark and grass clippings. (I know that`s just a joke, but thought I`d explain it for the troll)

My opinion, GOD didn`t put me at the top of the food chain to be a vegetarian !!

I used to be so picky about what I`d eat; mom`s, aunt`s or grand mom`s only, almost. Got out into the real world, trucking and then with the tire crew, I learned to broaden my palate. When my Sis first married, she got into gourmet cooking, wouldn`t start a meal till it was time to eat. When it was finally done, I was sick (border-line hypoglycemic). And then it was awful. I thought I`d starve !

Now, 40 yrs later, she`s amazed what I`ll eat. And she`s a great cook !

I`ve also learned, every region has great food and crappy food !

No doubt the troll believes in food stamps that make it less likely the person will eat healthy and will  be obese. There's a reason beyond buying the wrong types of food. It is called making bad choices.
I do love my salads with what I affectionately call "lawn clippings", but I also enjoy all of God's bounty from the ground and on the hoof. We are naturally omnivores after all.

To put it in PC terms that any diet-conscious "athlete" should be able understand, neither Zilla and her family, nor their tastebuds, are suffering from Vitamin A deficiency. Have you checked your levels lately?

Nor should the Zilla fam suffer from a vitamin K deficiency as real butter is a Weston Price must. Zilla, I save my bacon grease, too. If you'd like a fabulous spinach salad, heat a few tbsp of bacon fat (4 maybe, and any of the crispies left, too). Add 2-3 Tbsp of dijon mustard, a T of brown sugar. Let it bubble and come together over the heat. Drizzle in balsalmic vinegar or red wine vinegar to thin the dressing to pouring consistency. Adjust with salt and pepper if you need it, or more sugar or vinegar. IPour over spinach while hot. Especially good with strawberries on the salad. Or just more bacon. Hard boiled egg. Chopped meat. Love  it! And the fat helps make the vitamins in the veg bio-available. ; )

I learned in a college health class many years ago that margarine contains stuff that is toxic and non-processable by the human body. Something witht he hydrogenated oil used. Butter is fully processed by the body and non-toxic, and of course, it tastes better. The key is not in using chemical substitutes for good food, but in eating good food in moderation.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!  I haven't yet experienced it but I just know your cooking is AAA!  That's better than our credit rating, baby!!  Love the haram.  I'm going to try to be haram as often as possible!  And we occasionally use Smart Balance, but BUTTER is our preferred lubricant (along with olive oil).  No lo-fat dressings for us.


My mom was from Mississippi and my dad from Tennessee.  Both could cook 'til the cows came home.  Man do I miss Southern cooking!  Bacon grease - you betcha!

Saw somewhere this morning that King Putz and Meanchelle`s vacation at Mahtha`s Vinyuhd will cost "us" millions.

Her trip to Oregon while BHO is celebtratin` Ramalama ding dong tells me that she is no part muslim; wants nuthin` to do with it. Just a thought ! Btw, is she taking the girls with her ?

EVERYTHING tastes better with bacon grease.

 I am going to write the President and ask he use his endless power to  issue another Executive Order making it a crime to throw away bacon grease for ANY reason. Punishment to be no less than 48 hours of forced listening to his speeches. This is time for 5 speeches and will guarantee zero recidivism.
